I wonder if you guessed that I love to travel. It seems like it’s so common for people to say they love travelling these days, and it might sound dramatic, but it feels like an essential part of what makes me, well, me.
I love challenging myself to try new things in unfamiliar places. There is no better way to find your people than by traveling with them. You learn so much about yourself and others when things are even mildly inconvenient.
I wonder what kind of traveller you are. Are you a go-go-go type? Do you have to do the touristy things first? Do you easily get homesick? Do you see it more as an escape or as a return to yourself?
What are your favorite places?
As I’ve gotten older, I’m no longer a “gotta do absolutely everything” type anymore. My appreciation for a slower path has taken over. I also don’t mind experiencing a place more than once. One of my favorite things is experiencing someone’s first visit to a place I love alongside them. I love watching and waiting to hear their thoughts. It may be a quirk, but it brings me great joy. It’s all perspective, I guess. It’s actually not just travel, but introducing people to shows, movies, books, or music for the first time… They don’t even have to love it, though that is a plus, but just to see or hear their experience, I find it gratifying. I think it’s about expanding someone’s world. Is that weird?
